Getting A Guy Back - Should I Write Him A Letter?

By Maria Tames

Many girls wonder after a breakup: Is it smart to write my ex boyfriend a letter, to explain my feelings to him?

Are letters any good if you try getting a guy back? Well, I went through two major breakups in my life, one after a year and a half, and one after five years. After both, I found great relieve in writing down my feelings. But after both, sending my letters containing those feelings to my ex boyfriend, did more bad than good.

There are breakups happening every single day, so there is some common behaviour we can find with most girls and guys after a breakup. One example is: Most guys don't respond too well to long, emotional letters from an ex girlfriend.

In a lot of cases though, women tend to send a letter to their ex boyfriend, hoping to get "closure". This is counter-productive.

The best idea is the following: Write down your feelings about your ex boyfriend, just for yourself, to get some clarity in your head about the whole situation.

If you have the urge to share your feelings, then instead of snail-mailing them to your ex boyfriend, why don't you post them anonymously on a forum or blog? That way, you will get some feedback that can help you to gain some perspective on things, instead of unloading it on your ex boyfriend.

If you were planning to send your ex boyfriend a letter, and now are unsure about what to do.. I would recommend you have a look at this article that is all about getting a guy back.

To wrap it up, I just have this general advice: After a breakup, just try to stay lively and active, go do something with friends, don't isolate yourself. - 16035
