Choosing a Moveable Mural for Your Home

By Maria S. Parasiewicz

Having a wall mural in your home is to make a statement about your artistic nature, as well as increasing the value and visual appeal of your home.

It is a way of permanently altering the look of your home, and adding something to it which gives it uniqueness, all of its own.

However, an occasion may arise when it is necessary to relocate your mural to a different room, or even to a different home.

If you foresee this in your own situation, perhaps a moveable mural would be something that you could use.

Why moveable murals?

Moveable murals exist in two main forms, either of which can easily be uninstalled, and reinstalled to a different location. There are good reasons to consider using both types.

No matter which moveable mural you choose, the commissioned artist is free to work in their own studio, during their own schedule until the project is complete and ready to move into your home.

Mural painted on Plywood: It is most common for moveable murals to be painted on plywood. These murals may come in more than one plywood section. Multiple sections are typically attached to each other by small nails.

One benefit to having a mural on plywood is that they are fairly resistant to damage to the durable characteristics of plywood. These murals are not, however, easy to store due to their size.

Mural Painted on Canvas: One alternative to having a mural on plywood is a mural on canvas. People who plan on having their mural stay in one place for a long period of time typically choose a mural on canvas.

Due to canvas susceptibility to damage, it is best to have a professional who is used to working with canvas, deal with removal and installation. Canvas needs to be handled with care so as not do damage it.

Murals on canvas are very easy to store, as they can be rolled up and kept in a tube. This way they do not take up much space and leave you more room for other things.

People can choose to have a moveable mural for any number of reasons. One may want to exchange a painting from a child that has outgrown it, or simply change the room up a bit. It is ideal to have a mural which can be relocated without damaging the artwork.

After all, it will only take a few moments to remove and reinstall the wall mural into your new home while having a memory of your old home keep you comfort in the new. - 16035
