Selecting the Perfect PlaceCard Holders for Your Wedding

By Aaron H.

For many couples, planning a wedding involves a mind boggling number of seemingly minor details that, if not handled correctly, can create a huge crisis. Food service for the reception, flowers, and decorations must be ordered, a seating chart must be made up and place cards printed, and something should be ordered that will hold the place cards in place at the tables. One detail that seems minor on the surface, yet can create a total catastrophe if handled in the wrong manner is choosing the perfect place card holders.

Place card holders can come in almost any shape, from very serious and traditional to somewhat whimsical. These items are usually chosen because they fit into the overall dcor of the reception site in a pleasing manner. Sometimes, it is wise to choose something a little different to use as placecard holders because they will also be taken home by the guests as wedding favors.

Many couples find shopping for placecard holders to be an interesting diversion from the larger more involved issues of planning the wedding. Shopping for items that will serve as both place card holders and wedding favors is a better diversion. The couple will want to shop for items that do not appear to be cheap, yet have a very reasonable cost.

One clear example of an item that makes a good combination placecard holder and wedding favor is a small photo frame with the person's place card inside that can be replaced with a wedding photo when they are developed. There are several different styles of such frames that will match any wedding theme. They come in different forms as well from standard desktop type frames to glass coasters that can have the placecard/photo slid inside them. These types of items are frequently used as combination place card holders/wedding favors and make practical gifts as well.

If the couple wants to have place card holders that serve that purpose only, there are several small to tiny items that are slotted to allow the edge of the place cards to be slid in so that they stand upright on the table, but are not obtrusively noticeable. Of course, the final decision of item is ultimately up to the couple.

The greatest selection of placecard holders is probably available by shopping online. Online stores typically have a wider selection of wedding related items than traditional "brick and mortar" stores at lower prices. The increased selection may make shopping for place card holders take a little longer, but the final choice will make it well worthwhile.

Placecard holders are one of those minor details that can be overlooked very easily when planning a wedding. Failure to have them when needed can become a major catastrophe in the eyes of the bride whose wedding day is less than perfect. Shopping for the perfect place card holders is a responsibility that the bride and groom share and, that can provide them with a break from the more difficult tasks involved in wedding planning. - 16035
