What You Can Do For Your Valentine By Penny Lee

By Penny Lee

Valentine's Day, a day of love spanning centuries. With so many ways to be someone's valentine or to ask someone to be your valentine. And it's all thanks to a romantic priest named Valentine who died a Martyr for the love of God and the love of mankind.

A romantic start would be a Valentine greeting card. There are many circumstances that decide the type of Valentine card ranging from a simple business card, a card you actually make yourself, a store bought card or one that you have commissioned and personalised to make it exclusive.

Valentine flowers are wonderfully romantic and even more so when you add their meanings. The beautiful White Camellia means, 'You're Adorable', the Pink Camellia means 'I'm longing for you', the beautiful Calla Lily means 'Beauty' and of course Red Roses mean 'I Love You'.

A last minute Valentine's gift or one that's been well thought out, there are many to choose from. A generous gift certificate, chocolates in a heart shaped box. A romantic book of poems, a beautiful picture frame in a heart shape design or even silky frillies chosen with care of course.

A romantic Valentine's dinner makes a wonderful gift, this is something you could prepare yourself... Soft lights and a rom-com dvd would show how much you care. A gentle hug and kiss will help start a Valentine's Day to remember.

A Valentine's weekend break in a classy hotel, tickets for a special show where you arrive in style in a stretch limousine. A trip to a fireworks display where you've also arranged a flight in a hot air balloon. Any of these would create a wonderful memory of Valentine's Day.

A Valentine's day often includes a proposal of marriage. A popular proposal is on a billboard, placed obviously on a regular route. A dozen roses at breakfast, again at lunch, and again at dinner. Then arrive with a single rose and a heart shaped gift tag saying 'Will You Marry Me?' And of course the traditional down on one knee proposal with a beautiful ring.

I've read that Valentine's Day weddings are very popular, it becomes a double celebration. Making your vows of love on the day associated with love is extremely romantic. Sometimes couples are blessed with more love upon the miracle of a Valentine's Day baby, what a treasure.

It's almost Valentine's Day, are you prepared? It is thought that love favours a prepared mind. Choose an appropriate card, write a heartfelt sentiment yourself and as a last minute Valentine gift this is for you to use... 'I'll always be your Valentine, please say you will be mine, and we will share romantic love, until the end of time, - 16035
